Where would we be without technology?
There are countless fantastic innovations out there, which make our day to day lives infinitely easier. In no scenario is this more true than in heavy lifting industries. Imagine if we had to lift all of this by hand!
A great example of an innovation which has transformed the operations of warehouses, industries and commercial properties is dock levelers. They are such a simple concept, but boy are they a life saver.
Anyone who hasn’t heard of a dock leveler is seriously missing out. So, we’ve used this blog post to provide our quick guide to dock levelers. Read on to find out more about what dock levelers are, and how they work. This way, we can connect you to technology which has the potential to transform your operations.
A dock leveler is a type of electronic equipment which is designed to help transport vehicles enter buildings.
They consist of a flat platform, which can be raised into a ramp for a transport vehicle when required.
They are installed either in the ground (and are fitted in place through a specially-constructed pit), or are mounted within a dock face. Then, when it is raised, the dock leveler will connect to the loading dock door frame.
As a result, when the dock leveler is raised, a ramp is created, which allows a transport vehicle to easily travel up and into the building.
Dock levelers come in a wide variety of types, including a number of pit levelers (such as mechanical dock levelers, hydraulic dock levelers, air dock levelers, and vertical dock levelers), rail dock levelers, and edge of dock levelers. Each of these operates in a slightly different way, but they all deliver the same end result.
You can also request for a specially made dock leveler to be created on your behalf, to suit the specific requirements of your property or business.
If you would like to install a dock leveler into your property, then we would be delighted to hear from you.
